There were warning signs before the eruption and so the mountain was closed to the public and this measure saved many lives. The ash from the eruption reached 11 states. The volcano erupted another five times during 1980.

It seems Carmen Electra had her cougar claws out while partying at a Hollywood club on Thursday.
The 41-year-old Baywatch star was spotted getting flirty with Glee’s Samuel Larsen, who is just 21.
The actress touched the dreadlocked star’s arm as they got close in a corner booth at Bootsy Bellows in Los Angeles and they later posed up arm-in-arm.
